Publication reviewers agree to critically evaluate the content of a publication by examining the manuscript for accuracy, clarity, relevance, and coherence and provide feedback, suggest improvements or new sections, and identify any errors or inconsistencies in the text.
Reviewers authorise the publisher to acknowledge their contribution in the publication, subject to the publisher’s judgment on the significance of the reviewer’s input. This permission is inclusive of incorporating reviewers’ feedback into the publication as deemed beneficial by the publisher, without infringing on the below terms regarding voluntary participation, reviewer qualifications, and conduct guidelines.
By participating as a reviewer individuals agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions:
- Voluntary Review Participation: Review activities are voluntarily undertaken without financial or other compensation. By participating, reviewers acknowledge that they are not officially assigned but volunteer to be considered as reviewers.
- Reviewer Qualification: Reviewers confirm they possess the necessary qualifications and domain expertise relevant to the publication’s content. This ensures contributions are informed and valuable, enhancing the publication’s quality.
- Review Conduct: Reviews must be constructive and professional; negative, malicious, or defamatory content is prohibited and may be excluded to maintain a respectful review environment.
- Independent Publication of Reviews: While individuals are free to express their personal views, they must not imply or state that such reviews were made in any official capacity or under the assignment or endorsement of the publisher or the author.
- Acknowledgment in Publication: Reviewers will be acknowledged by name in the appendix of the guide, provided their contributions are deemed significant by the publisher.
- Publisher’s Discretion: The publisher has full authority to utilize, modify, or exclude any reviews, feedback, or contributions at their discretion to ensure the publication’s integrity and quality. The decision regarding the significance of contributions and their acknowledgment is at the sole discretion of the publisher and is final.
- Order of Acknowledged Names: The order in which names of contributors and reviewers are listed in the acknowledgment section is determined solely by the publisher.
- Ownership of Edits and Contributions: Reviewers understand and agree that they cannot claim ownership, co-authorship, or the position of editor for the whole publication or for any corrections, ideas, suggestions, or contributions made to the publication.
- Intellectual Property Rights: Reviewers may NOT claim any intellectual property or moral rights over the draft or the final publication.
- Restriction on Separate Publication: Reviewers and contributors are prohibited from separately publishing the entire publication. When using parts of the publication, they cannot claim ownership of those parts.
- Providing a Reference: When promoting the publication or their volunteer work, they must include an explicit link back to the original publication. This ensures that the integrity of the publication is maintained and that all access to its content is directed through the appropriate channels established by the PM² Foundation.
- Publication License: The creative commons license of the publication is subject to change at the publisher’s discretion. However, such changes will not be retroactive and any versions of the publication that have already been released will remain in the open-source domain under the license applicable at the time of their publication.
- Non-disclosure agreement: The volunteer agrees to treat all information or material, including the submitted review, as confidential information not to be disclosed to third parties. Confidential Information means any data or information not generally known to the public or that has not yet been revealed, whether in tangible or intangible forms.
